The Curaçao Medical & Wellness Tourism sector is characterized by a wide variety of services and facilities that provide diverse experiences to tourists.
Hospital and clinical care
Hospital and clinical care focuses on curing acute illnesses and treating medical conditions through high-tech diagnostic procedures, both invasive and non-invasive. These procedures are conducted by licensed healthcare professionals in hospitals, medical centers, or specialized clinics
Aesthetic care
Aesthetic care focuses on improving the physical appearance of an individual and attends to the psychosocial dimensions of health. This care involves both invasive and non-invasive procedures performed in a clinical environment, a day spa or a beauty salon, by trained medical professionals as well as practitioners with widely differing clinical and educational backgrounds.
Wellness care
Wellness care can be provided in various settings without necessarily being administered by certified health professionals. Related treatments involve enhancing personal well-being through nutrition, healthy eating, beauty and mind-body focus activities like spas, yoga and meditation, as well as complementary and alternative medicine (acupuncture, hydrotherapy), and mental wellness retreats.

Economic contribution
The MWT sector contributes to the growth of Curaçao’s economy. International patients bring in money to the local economy and boost tax receipts and foreign exchange reserves. In addition to treatments, foreign patients spend money on accommodation, transportation, food and other local goods and services. Many of them travel with companions, further boosting tourism revenues. This can help create jobs and strengthen local businesses.

This group is also known as vital seniors. Category B: Seniors who are in need of care and cannot live independently. Construction Plans: Grand Hill Resort Phase 2 will be constructed starting in early 2025. The construction is expected to take one year, with total costs around 15 million guilders.
