CINEX Strengthens Strategic Partnerships in Barranquilla to Drive Investment in Curaçao
Barranquilla, COLOMBIA – March 13th:
As part of its international growth strategy to unlock new opportunities across the Caribbean region, CINEX carried out an institutional visit to Barranquilla from March 11–13, engaging with prominent business leaders, industry associations, and academic institutions.
The visit was led by Paola Olaya, representative of CINEX Colombia, who conducted high-level meetings aimed at building bilateral cooperation frameworks to stimulate investment, innovation, and cross-border business development between Colombia and the Caribbean through Curaçao.
The primary objective of the mission was to establish collaborative foundations that will enable Colombian industries to expand into international markets, positioning Curaçao as a strategic gateway connecting the Caribbean with Europe and the United States.
The agenda featured meetings with key regional development stakeholders, including Caribe Exponencial, Fundación Santo Domingo, Cámara de Comercio de Barranquilla, Asociación Nacional de Empresarios de Colombia (ANDI), Atlántico chapter of Cámara Colombiana de la Construcción (CAMACOL), Asociación Portuaria Michellmar, as well as representatives from the technology and innovation sectors, hospitality developers, and higher education institutions, including Centro de Conocimiento INCA.
Key areas of collaboration discussed during the meetings included:
- Supporting Colombian business expansion by leveraging Curaçao as a strategic export platform
- Promoting bilateral investment flows and regional co-investment initiatives
- Developing co-creation programs to facilitate Curaçao-based entrepreneurs’ access to the Colombian market
- Establishing regional innovation and development labs in partnership with The Curaçao Innovation HUB
- Strengthening academic partnerships and two-way knowledge transfer programs
- Promoting hospitality and tourism investment opportunities in Curaçao
- Enhancing strategic coordination across the logistics, port, and energy sectors
As a key outcome of the visit, participating institutions agreed to move forward with the formalization of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), creating structured cooperation frameworks and joint roadmaps to accelerate the implementation of strategic binational initiatives across business, academic, and institutional sectors.
This mission underscores CINEX’s commitment to building effective bridges for international business expansion and regional economic integration.
