CINEX Reconnects with Stakeholders, Unveils New Investment Vision with $300M+ Project Pipeline
Willemstad, Curaçao – The Curaçao Investment and Export Promotion Agency (CINEX) has presented a clear and forward-looking vision for investment promotion for the coming years, during a successful stakeholder engagement event held at the Mongui Maduro Library.
The evening was dedicated to reconnecting with stakeholders: business leaders, government ministries, and partners who play an essential role in shaping Curaçao’s economic future. It was a moment to renew dialogue, share updates, and reinforce the importance of working together to unlock investment opportunities that benefit the entire island.
Under the leadership of CEO Mr. Miles Mercera, CINEX laid out its renewed mission: to attract high-value investments, facilitate export, strengthen public-private collaboration, and create sustainable, innovation-driven growth.
A key announcement was the confirmation that more than $300 million USD worth of investment projects are currently in the pipeline, spanning sectors such as renewable energy, technology, the blue economy, food security, and sustainable tourism.
“These opportunities are real, but they are only achievable with you,” said Mr. Mercera. “Government ministries, landowners, developers, entrepreneurs , you are the ones with the assets, the real estate, the projects. CINEX is here to facilitate. We don’t own any assets ourselves , what we bring is the connection, the promotion, the bridge.”
Strategic Partnership with CDM Holding
During the event, CINEX signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CDM Holding, establishing a strategic framework to promote investment and sustainable growth within Curaçao’s maritime and industrial sectors. The partnership includes initiatives such as a feasibility study for a new workers hotel, enhanced international promotion of maritime services, and collaboration on the Buskabaai development as a future maritime cluster.
The Road Ahead
CINEX’s strategic roadmap for 2025/2026 includes:
- Diversification into emerging sectors like fintech, sustainable industries, and digital innovation;
- Improved business facilitation and reduced bureaucracy;
- Stronger export support for local businesses;
- Global outreach through trade missions and strategic partnerships.
By aligning stakeholders and ensuring transparency, CINEX is committed to positioning Curaçao as a modern, competitive, and attractive destination for investment; one built not on promises, but on partnership.
