CINEX Strengthens Regional Ties with Strategic Partnerships in Suriname!

Paramaribo, Suriname – February 6, 2025 – The Curaçao Investment and Export Promotion Agency Foundation (CINEX) has taken a significant step towards enhancing regional economic cooperation by signing two landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key Surinamese organizations: the Suriname Energy Chamber (SEC) and the Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA). These agreements aim to foster closer economic collaboration, stimulate foreign direct investment, and drive sustainable growth across Curaçao and Suriname.

The signing ceremonies took place in Paramaribo, Suriname, where Mr. Miles M. Mercera, CEO of CINEX, represented Curaçao in both agreements. The Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with Mr. Orlando Olmberg, President of SEC, and Mr. Amar Alakhramsing, CEO of SITA, marking a new era of partnership and economic synergy between the two nations. Mr. Pedro Vega Orozco signed on behalf of CINEX as a witness for both signings, while Mr. Raoul Chong signed as a witness for SITA.

“These partnerships are a testament to our commitment to strengthening regional ties and unlocking new opportunities for businesses in both Curaçao and Suriname,” said Mr. Mercera. “By aligning our efforts with SEC and SITA, we aim to attract significant investments, foster innovation, and promote sustainable economic development.”

Mr Alakhramsing confirmed that SITA is pleased to formally establish relations with CINEX. “We believe that there are both investment and export opportunities to exploit between our two nations” he noted.
